Hello Friends and Family!!
I am in Las Vegas and I can already feel the excitement. We had a chance on Monday to prepare the calves and they fit right in to my style of roping, "like a glove going on a hand!" I have been getting my horses ready and all my tack and equipment. It has been a whirlwind trying to get tickets, hotels, setting up autograph sessions & television shows.
Although it was all worth when tonight I walked out on the South Point stage to recieve a buckle and a bonus check for being the leader in the tie down roping coming in to the National Finals. It is starting and I am so ready and I want to thank all of the people that are supporting me and rooting for me. I have a plan and that is to rope and tie down all 10 calves to the best of my ability and let the awards take care of themselves.
I am prepared to give 121% and my brother Jeremiah who I am excited to say will be caring for my horses and getting all of my ropes and tack ready. He was standing next to me last year and since it was so great last year I told him I did not see any reason to change anything so I asked him if he would help me again this year and he happily said yes.
One of the best things in my life has happened to me over Thanksgiving and has given me so much inspiration to do great and succeed in what ever my goals are. I found the love of my life and when asked to marry me, Kori actually said yes! I don't think she knows what she is getting in to! LOL! No, Just kidding, she is an amazing woman and we are very happy together and perfect for each other. I told her that I could not dream of a better young woman to ask to complete me. So, this year has offered me more than just winning rodeos it has begun the walk of life with the perfect woman.
I better get back to work, they say there is a rodeo in Las Vegas maybe I better get ready.

Texas Stampede
Hello Friends, How is everyone doing today? I just stepped out of the practice arena to let everyone know how the Texas Stampede went. It was a tough weekend there were some fast times and some tough runs. I was 7.4 to win the first go round, Jeff Chapman was 7.2 to win the second go-round and Hunter Herrin walked away the champion after tieing a 7.0. Fastest time of the weekend and Hunter also moved me to second in the Average on our first two calves. There was a lot of interesting things that took place, not only did the rodeo draw a record crowd but the Texas Stampede raised more money this year than ever for The Children's Medical Center, of which I had a chance to attend and see some neat kids on thursday and then on Friday they asked myself and a few rodeo queens and McKenly the spokesperson for the kids ward. Who herself was a patient when she was diagnosed with a hole in her heart at child birth. We attended the Channel 11 Morning News Program where we had a chance to talk about what it meant to have the opportunity to be such a great role model for so many kids and give back to those who are less fortunate. I had a very exciting weekend in Dallas and now I am in the practice pen with only three weeks before the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. I look forward to seeing everyone in Vegas.

Canadian Finals Round 1-3
Well three rounds through at the Canadian Finals and it has not went as planned. The first round I had a calf down to be fast and the calf kicked real bad making me 12.5. Kicking calves is pretty rare in Canada. They do a good job of preparing the stock up here, but it is bound to happen sometime. The second round was much better. I was 7.9 and split 3rd and 4th. I was happy with my run. I thought maybe I could have taken one wrap and a huey, but went with two instead. Tonight I was the last roper and roped one right there, sure enough I was going to win the round, but the calf kicked again. I was 10.5. That's not bad, but I have bigger plans so I am looking forward to the next three rounds.
This has to be the best kept secret in rodeo. This is six rounds that pay close the 10 thousand a round. The Shiozawas are here and together we have had a fun time going out to eat and visiting the Edmonton Mall. I hope to have good news after the next three rounds.

Canadian Finals
My family and I arrived in Edmonton a couple of days ago. I am not as familiar with Edmonton as I am with Calgary, but wow this is a big city. They put the calf ropers in a really nice hotel downtown Edmonton. This rodeo might be the best kept secret in rodeo. The CPRA is a great association. During orientation they gave us some great gifts. The rodeo is in the Rexall Place which is a 17,000 seat arena that is great for rodeo. The ropers up here are good too. There are three Americans, myself, Matt Shiozawa, and Tyson Durfey. I am excited to rope and hopefully can get some money put together up here. I will keep you posted as to what happens in the next six rounds. Nate
